About Angela
I am passionate about health and healing. I believe that everyone does the best they can with the tools they have at any given moment. At times, we need a novel perspective, new ideas of things to try, and encouragement to be the person we have always wanted to be.
Therapy can support these shifts and changes. Therapy can help you to accept who you are now, while holding a vision of who you are becoming. I have found therapy to be especially effective when it incorporates the whole person, including the body.
In our culture, we often disregard the body. When it becomes ill or has pain, we want to cast it off, ignore or fear it. In my perspective, the body has its own wisdom and rhythm. If we don’t respect and honor this, it can derail our attempts to heal and change.
My approach to therapy aims to incorporate the whole self - one’s body, mind, emotions, history, culture, identity, and spirit. Every person deserves the experience of more regulation, greater health, and increased pleasure in themselves. You deserve this too!
My Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I believe no matter what you’ve been through, Healing Is Available.
Outside the Office
After living in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the Denver Metro area for many years, I came to the Bay Area in 2009 and am happy to call it home. I have a deep love of nature, reading, cooking, music, and art. When I’m not working, you will find me enjoying time with friends and family as well as joyfully (and at times tiredly) chasing around my daughter and dog, Milo.

Experience
After receiving my MSW over 25 years ago, I have had the opportunity to provide therapy services to all ages from children as young as 2 years old to older adults. My time as a clinical social worker has been spent in numerous roles of therapy and leadership and in a variety of care settings. Some of these settings include outpatient clinics, public mental health centers, child/teen residential centers, and now, in private practice.
Today in my practice I focus on seeing older children, teens, adults, and families as well as provide supervision and consultation to fellow therapists. I incorporate my knowledge of attachment theory, social advocacy, and family systems into my holistic approach to therapy.
In all these years of experience, I remain committed to practicing in a trauma informed and culturally respectful manner with all clients.
